The purpose of just-war reasoning is not to make Christians feel comfortable about violence. Its purpose is to place moral limits on violence in a violent world, and to remind leaders and citizens that the burden of proof lies on those who would use lethal force.

Some made it, many didn’t. And get this, the regime called it “anti-fascist protection.” But here is what it really was: the state fighting to preserve itself from the choices of its own people.
